The law of attraction believes that absolutely every positive and negative event that happens in your life occurred because it was ‘attracted’ to you.  For the most part, it boils down to two things: if you act positively, you will attract positive events in your life. It came to the fore through the teachings of Phineas Quimby, although at this point it was not actually called the law of attraction. the trouble is in the mind, for the body is only the house for the mind to dwell in, and we put a value on it according to its worth. Therefore if your mind has been deceived by some invisible enemy into a belief, you have put it into the form of a disease, with or without your knowledge. By my theory or truth I come in contact with your enemy, and restore you to your health and happiness. This I do partly mentally and partly by talking till I correct the wrong impressions and establish the Truth, and the Truth is the cure.

It wasn’t until 1877 that the Law of Attraction was actually given a name. It was Helena Blavatasky who first wrote about it. Now, at the time, a number of distinct writers talked about the Law of Attraction in their books. It didn’t really gain a whole lot of traction, though. It is important that you constantly repeat to yourself that you can achieve what you want in your life. You can do whatever you want. When you are visualizing, it is important that you do not think about anything that may stand in your way. If those negative thoughts end up popping into your mind, then it is important that you eradicate them quickly. Do not ever let yourself be consumed by negative thoughts. This completely goes against the law of attraction.

Next, you are going to need to write down your wish. This is you telling the universe exactly what it is you want. Most New Thinking experts will tell you to start by writing “I am so happy and grateful now that…” and write a little bit about what makes you happy in your life. Again, you do not want to let any negative thoughts try to creep in here. Everything that you write down on that page needs to be positive. Your piece of writing will end with you telling the universe what you want from this life. Write as much as you want here. Obviously, some people’s goals will be a bit more extensive than other people’s goals. This is fine. However, do try to at least put a small amount of effort into being as detailed as possible. The more detailed you are about what you write, the more chance you are going to be able to communicate with the universe exactly what it is you want. Many people communicate unclear goals, and they never end up getting what they need from their life.

If you try hard enough, you can actually start to see the positive in almost every single situation, even if you were negative about it previously. Remember, you should always trust the universe. Obviously, the law of attraction has come under much critique. There are many out there who believe that it doesn’t work. I am not going to lie as there are very few ways in which you can ‘feasibly’ test this method. The only evidence that we can go by is anecdotal evidence. People have said it works, then it may just work. However, of course, you have to bear in mind that there will be a selection bias in place here. These people will just look at the events in their life which conform to what their predetermined idea is.
